CEO: AvtoVAZ to raise output of cheapest Lada versions

ST.PETERSBURG, Jul 31 (PRIME) -- AvtoVAZ will raise production of the cheapest versions of the Lada cars, CEO Maxim Sokolov said on Monday.

"We have recently decided to raise production of the most budget-friendly cars, as we understand that our clients also tend to buy cheap cars and we must provide this opportunity to the clients," Sokolov said.

He said that the company had managed to keep the prices for these models below 700,000 rubles, although it was hard to buy components because of sanctions and corporate imports restrictions.

"We are making tough but effective management decisions and providing the market with locally-made, secure… and, most important, budget-friendly cars," he said.
